It is certain and known that most of your time at the University are going to be spent in the lecture room.


Receiving lectures can seem boring or interesting depending on how you view the subject or the nature of the lecturer.


Though lectures are not mandatory, but the interesting part of lectures is that they provide you with the basic and necessary information and knowledge you’ll need for better understanding of what you gonna be reading or revising for each week in the semester.


Below are few tips to get the most out of lectures


1. SEAT


The seat you take during lectures will determine greatly if you are gonna get the most out of every lectures. Seating in the front of any lecture is the best decision you will ever make. Apart from getting a clear understanding of what the lecturer is passing across, you will find yourself less distracted by sitting in the front of lectures.


2. NOTE TAKING


Taking notes during lectures is another great way to get the most of lectures. But it is important to know that, not everything the lecturer passes across is to be pen down, just pick out the important points from everything the lecturer says and pen them down neatly into your note. This way you’re going to be getting the most of lectures.


3. ASK QUESTIONS


It is very important to ask question during lectures, not for anything but because it helps you to recall what is been taught in the class easily and faster.


4. Record


There are various recording tools that you can use to take down the voice of the lecturer. This is a very great way to get most of lectures as you tend to get full information on what the lecturer is teaching. and it is also retained forever when you record.


5. CAFFEINE/SNACKS


Taking along caffeinated drink is not the best way to get most of lectures,  it ends up making you to get fed up of the lecture. Taking along a bottle of water to the lecture hall can be a great idea as this will help you to be more at alert and stay awake during lectures.


6. FRIENDS


Being in the company of serious minded friends during lectures can also help to get most of lectures. They will also help to keep you awake and stay on track. You can compare notes at the end of lectures with your friends to see the gap you left in note and fill them immediately
