Many reactions have trailed the suspension of the three-month-old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (Asuu) on Monday.

Asuu had on Thursday suspended the strike following a meeting between the union and the Federal Government.

According to Ogunyemi, the decision followed a meeting of the lecturers with representatives of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

The development had struck several reactions from Nigerians who took to Twitter to bare their minds.

BREAKING: Italy Economy Enters Into Recession

The Italian economy contracted in the fourth quarter of 2018, dragged down by slowing European growth and global trade tensions, plunging the country into a technical recession, official data showed Thursday. The 0.2 percent contraction — following a 0.1 percent fall in the third quarter — will put pressure on the populist government in the eurozone’s third largest economy, which took power in June on the back of big-spending electoral promises. Italy is Europe’s second largest manufacturer and is currently the only European Union member in recession, although growth in export powerhouse Germany also fell in 2018.
