Is Nigeria the most corrupt country in Africa?
Nigeria is not the most corrupt country in Africa. She has corruption problems though but she is making strides in curbing corruption. She has established organs for fighting corruption like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, The Independent Corruption Practice Commission, ICPC, The Whistleblower Act, the program which encourages people to report corruption and they get 5% of whatever loot recovered as they pay, without getting their identities publicized. And many other schemes which have been implemented.
Nigeria had made strides in the corruption fight and had brought to justice many influential figures in the country. There are many other countries that are worse than Nigeria. They have a high level of impunity and gross nepotism. Nigeria is a success story in the corruption fight although more needs to be done. It is a process and it will take more strengthening of the institutions and advance in technology to enhance speedy results.
