Hello Wizkid fans!!! Wizkid is set to make a loud fashion statement with a top Nigerian Menswear brand!

Eponymous fashion brand Okunoren is most definitely making big moves this year. After dressing Davido at his sold out o2 show, it looks like Okunoren has set their sights on Wizkid. Davido was spotted at his show wearing a limited edition handcrafted Iyami Eleye bomber jacket from Okunoren’s Autumn/Winter 19 collection called Divinity To Form.
Now, it seems the brand might have something in the works with another one of Africa’s biggest musical giants Wizkid as Kehinde Okunoren and starboy were spotted together in London. This is not Wizkid’s first turn in the fashion world. After a wildly successful collaboration during the World Cup with sports giant Nike, Wizzy had countless trendy pop-ups around the world where his merch flew off the shelves.
Wizkid also made his modelling debut walking for Dolce & Gabbana’s SS19 runway show which saw him walking along with the likes of Naomi Campbell. At this stage, we cannot confirm what the stylish duo are up to but whatever it is, judging by their respective track records, it’s going to be legendary.
OKUNOREN is a Nigerian Menswear label established in 2002. The brand revolutionized men’s clothing in Nigeria through its introduction of bespoke tailoring. Taiwo and Kehinde Okunoren, founders of the company, began by selling men’s shirts imported from the UK and America to their customers and soon after realized they could change the face of the African menswear industry through creating their own brand and inspired a new spring of menswear designers across the country.
They sought to create a brand that would reflect their core values of minimalism, precision and heritage. An identity that Africans and Non-Africans the world over would come to discover, recognize and appreciate. Drawing inspiration from Saville Row to craft its early collections, the brand began to bolster the emergence of a global African image by reaching deeper into its roots to conceive later collections. It ventured into luxury retail by opening its flagship store in Lagos to wide acclaim in 2013 in a bid to make its Ready to Wear collection more available to customers.
The brand has been worn by British pop star Tunde Baiyewu, British rap star Tinie Tempah, Dumi Obruthe, Wizkid, Davido, Naeto C, D’banj and Tuface. Okunoren has been featured in these publications.
