Rio Ferdinand praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after watching Manchester United maintain their 100 per cent record under their interim boss with a 3-1 win at Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.
Manchester United continued their fine form under Solskjaer, who was brought in as the club’s new manager back in December following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
Two quick-fire goals from Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial put Manchester United 2-0 up at The Emirates, before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled a goal back for the home side before half-time.
However, Anthony Martial made the victory secure when he netted in the 82nd minute to see Manchester United through to the fifth round.
The Red Devils have some serious momentum behind them under Solskjaer and they have made some significant progress since the sacking of Mourinho.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand was quick to highlight that on social media after the game.
Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: “Ole getting the best out of all these @ManUtd players now. Something Jose failed to do.”
Manchester United – who are sixth in the Premier League – will return to top-flight action when then host Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
