BREAKING: Italy Economy Enters Into Recession

Image
The Italian economy contracted in the fourth quarter of 2018, dragged down by slowing European growth and global trade tensions, plunging the country into a technical recession, official data showed Thursday. The 0.2 percent contraction — following a 0.1 percent fall in the third quarter — will put pressure on the populist government in the eurozone’s third largest economy, which took power in June on the back of big-spending electoral promises. Italy is Europe’s second largest manufacturer and is currently the only European Union member in recession, although growth in export powerhouse Germany also fell in 2018. The Italian economy suffered a harsh recession in 2012-13 and has enjoyed only slow growth since then. Overall growth for full-year 2018 was just 0.8 percent. Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte had anticipated the bad news on Wednesday during a business conference in Milan. “Analysts tell us we’ll likely still suffer a bit at t...

US RnB singer-songwriter James Ingram dies aged 66

Image
James Ingram, whose voice — technically precise, crisp and reserved, yet full of audacious feeling — made him one of the defining singers of R&B in the 1980s, has died. He was 66. Actress and choreographer Debbie Allen, a frequent collaborator with Ingram on musical theatre projects, announced his death on Twitter on Tuesday, calling him her “dearest friend and creative partner.” She did not say where or when he died or specify the cause. Just as R'B’s “quiet storm” phase was peaking, Ingram was plucked from side-gig obscurity by producer Quincy Jones to appear on his 1981 album, The Dude. Jones discovered Ingram on a demo of “Just Once,” written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, which he sang for $50. Jones loved not just the song but the singer as well, and he called Ingram — who initially hung up on him — and invited him to perform “Just Once” and another song, “One Hundred Ways,...

Bournemouth 4-0 Chelsea: Debut loss for Higuain in the Premier League as the Cherries end their jinx

Image
Ogaregina.blogspot.com Chelsea’s number nine, Gonzalo Higuain, who is making his Premier League debut fired blank as Bournemouth thrashed the Blues 4-0 at the Vitality stadium, with a brace from Josh King and other goals from David Brooks and  Charlie Daniels, as the Cherries end their poor run against the top six teams. Cup triumphs over Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday suggested Sarri’s withering assessment of the 2-0 loss to Arsenal had the desired effect, but a section of the away supporters turned on their Italian coach at the Vitality Stadium. Wales winger David Brooks created King’s 47th-minute opener before coolly doubling Bournemouth’s advantage, although he pulled up on a subsequent attack to cut a wonderful display short. Prior to that substitution, some Chelsea fans sang “You don’t know what you’re doing” as Sarri withdrew Gonzalo Higuain after 65 minutes ...

Is there still any doubt that Ronaldo CR7 is better than Messi?

Image
Ahmed O Big football fan. 38w ago There's actually no debate that Messi is still WAY BETTER than Ronaldo. Team trophies aside (which Messi has more of despite being younger), Messi is simply the better player individually. They are both incredible  goalscorers , Cristiano has several goalscoring records (Madrid’s all time top-scorer, for example) and same goes for Messi (Most goals ever scored in a single calendar year, most Clasico goals, most league goals ever scored in one season). But that is the  only  aspect in which they are somewhat comparable. No one compares them based on  playmaking ability  because Cristiano basically has no playmaking ability, unlike Messi who actually won IFFHS’s “best play-maker in the world” award the past 2 seasons. Also, no one compares them based on  dribbling ability  because everyone knows Messi is light-years ahead of Cristiano (Cristiano has more unsuccessful dribble attempts than successful ones this se...

Oshiomhole, Tinubu regret supporting Buhari? APC leaders shocked as President makes a stunning statement at campaign rally! See details

Image
Those that have been observing President Buhari would know that he is not very shy when it comes to expressing his true opinion about issues. Usually a very quiet person in the public sphere, Buhari is not shy in any way and he is known to be quite forthright in his views on issues and most times it is somewhat uncompromising. Buhari’s honest and direct style of speaking could make him look politically naive as it is common practice for politicians not to tell the entire truth particularly on issues regarding politics. This attitude would certainly have been a source of a headache for his handlers as he could be made to be politically exposed when talking in public. This was certainly the case when he advise members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State to vote for whoever they want, implying that they are not bound to vote for the party’s candidate particularly as it regards the governorship election which is a very controversial issue in the stat...
